pictures involving blue glitter

-Sorry my extra post ended up not really working out--I gave my camera cord to my sister, so I had to wait for the new one to get delivered, and my scanner had major problems.
-Anyhow, here's a picture of an awkward-looking guy in a native american costume-hat, and a lady who looks vaguely like beyonce. I have more stuff that I could've added to this post, but my issues on Wednesday taught me that I should stock up on backup stuff to post if I ever experience technical difficulties in the future.
-expect LARGE stuff on monday

room for improvement

-As predicted, this post ended up being pretty unsubstantial. I quickly made a picture of a woman making a weird face. I'm going to clean up my room, so I can find my art supplies and have a decent work environment, and then I'll do another post and put it up by Wednesday morning.
***EDIT: My scanner's not working, and I have to go to work, so I'll put the new stuff up sometime tonight
***EDIT 2: My scanner's still not working, and I'm too lazy to fix things now. So, all I have to add are two of my finest Lady Elaine coloring attempts. Oh well, I guess Friday's post will have a lot going on.
-Also, I was thinking about good old Lady Elaine, once again. So, I went to PBS's website, where I found this game, where you can color her in. I've found that, should you want to use this game to make her look attractive, she's pretty much a lost cause unless you use the marker tool to draw white over her and then start drawing an entirely new person from scratch.

first lady...elaine: pt. 2

-Here's the finished version of the picture from my last post. The lessons I learned from this one are that drawing old people is quite tricky, and painting around tiny stars is very annoying.
-Monday's post might end up being pretty bad because my sister's coming home from camp for the weekend, and I want to hang out with her a lot. She's been gone for a month, and I really miss her so much. I've started bothering my parents by making them play this morbid/odd game I made up called "How Much Do You Miss Goody on a scale of 1-10?". On the scale, a 1 means you miss her like she's in a different room in our house, whereas a 10 means you miss her like she's dead. I'm usually operating at an 8-- which I think equates to missing her like she's in prison and visitation is really inconvenient.

first lady... elaine??

-Once again, this is not the big picture I keep talking about-- although, it is much larger than most of the stuff I've been making lately.
-I know I'm quite late on the whole "homage to Michael Jackson" trend, but I still wanted to make a picture based on a time he was honored by Ronald and Nancy Reagan. I guess, I just thought it was an interesting juxtaposition of people. I also thought my uncle might like this one because he's a big Reagan fan for some reason. Plus, MJ was a pretty stylish dude--especially back then with those jackets.
-It's not finished yet, so I'll put up the finished version in my next post. I wish I could've finished it for this one, but it took SO much time and energy to draw Nancy Reagan because I kept making her look like Lady Elaine from "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood" (warning: this hyperlink is way scary).

^I just wanted to add a photo of MJ hangin' out with a president that I like

substitute pictures

-I ran a little short on time so, instead of finishing that big picture for today's post, I quickly made two little things- which was probably not a very efficient choice. I probably could've finished the big one, but, I care about that one and I think it's worth not rushing to get it done
-The first thing is a melty-looking abstract picture I started making while watching "The Bachelorette". I must have been really tired because working on this and watching Jillian (the bachelorette) go on her **<3**fantasy dates**<3** wasn't enough to keep me from falling asleep
-The second picture is of some sort of redcoat scenario

stripping for eagle dollars

-For this post, I decided to make another picture based on that playboy/sxsw party. This time, it's of a lady who is apparently both a playboy model and a dj for parties- a renaissance woman of sorts.
I think i'm just really into doing pictures of women in morally compromising situations (although playboy is pretty innocuous) because i can't stop thinking about this story another intern at my work told me awhile ago:
He told me that he also works as a substitute teacher, and at an elementary school where he works, they have a policy of rewarding kids for good behavior by giving them "Eagle Dollars", which they can later use to buy little prizes.
It sounds like a smart plan, but, unfortunately, kids (especially the little girls) are willing to do some pretty twisted things for eagle dollars- like using playground structures to pole dance on and giving lapdances : (.
I probably can't get this story out of my head because I know that, back in the day, if I were in that situation, I totally would have been the one willing to do some sick shit for eagle dollars. I'm so easily manipulated by positive reinforcement!
-Sorry if the art is kind of lacking. I'm working on a BIG picture that should be ready for Friday's post.

a spectacle of people wearing spectacles

-The first thing is a picture of a guy holding some kind of abstract-looking cotton candy. I might add some more color later, but, for now, I think I like the simple look.
-I can't really take credit for the composition of the second picture. It's based on a photo that I think was taken at a party Playboy hosted at South by Southwest. I found it while organizing the many "untitled folders" cluttering my desktop.
-Also, things should finally improve because I finally have a real source of motivation! I found out that, right when I get back to school, there's going to be a little show for the art majors summer work, so I definitely need to take things to the proverbial "next level".

title: couple on vacation, with pixelation

-This picture doesn't achieve my goal of diversifying what I'm making (although, it has little flowers and vines- which are kind of new for me).
It's just that my grandma asked me design a logo for t-shirts for a family cruise we're taking (a very clever idea on her part, because, otherwise, I'd probably not be so into the matching shirt thing), so I wanted to quickly make something that would get me into the proper nautical/vacation mindset before getting to work on that. However, unlike this picture, the cruise we're taking will be completely not raunchy
-Monday's post will be much more "inspiration quest-y".
-Also, I'm switching up the schedule a bit. From now on, I'll do new posts on Mondays (like before) and Fridays.

on a quest

Things have gotten a little busy these last few days, so I don't have anything to post about for today- tragic, I know. In fact, I've decided that, with my Summer schedule, Mondays still work well, but Thursdays are the worst days for posting. So, when I do a makeup post on Sunday, expect an !+exciting+! announcement regarding the revised schedule.
I've added some photos, just to give you a sneak peek at what I'm finding so far on my "inspiration quest".
