armada II/celebration

Here's the newest boat-explosion picture in an unfinished state. I know it's repetitive, but it's truly much bigger than the others, and I really think it'll be better than them too. You know what's fun? Looking at boats for sale on Craigslist!

It's my chronological blogiversary! I think I'm proud of myself, on some level. Maybe I should celebrate this big day by putting icing, sprinkles, and a candle on my computer as the "it's my blogiversary" picture shows.

getting older

Here's the golf picture in all its glory(?). Sorry I haven't gotten to make anything new yet. I'm taking six classes this semester, which is kind of time consuming, but pretty soon I'll have art projects due for some of them, and I'll get to put them up here. I definitely want to have something else to show for my next critique, so I'll make something new over the weekend. Plus, I think next post will be my chronological blogiversary, so I'll want to kick it up a notch.

Speaking of momentous occastions,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!!!
Don't feel old. 54 is a cool age. It's like Studio 54--a very cool place back when you were younger. Plus, in 10 years, you can live out the song "When I'm 64" and see if mom still likes you!

over par

Here are some more additions to the golf course picture. It's pretty much finished. I need to do a few touch-ups and take some decent photos of it, but I'll get started on new things now. Sorry for all the repetition. From now on, I'll try to adhere to that whole "variety is the spice of life" concept.
The whole picture is kind of based on the whole Tiger Woods drama. I chose to make something based on Tiger Woods even I'm not too fascinated with his love life, and I'm not really into golf because he owns this really sick boat named Privacy. I just have a big thing for boats. I like them so much that, when a friend showed me that SNL(?) video "I'm On A Boat", I didn't even think it was that funny. My main reaction was, "Yeah, boats are the best".

^little Privacy is great too!

2 girls 1 cart (+ test shots)

Once again, the big picture isn't finished yet. I'm trying to make it magnetic so the people can be moved around and make the whole thing sort of interactive, so I have figure out how to make that work. But, for now, here are two more girls and a golf cart and a few shots of what it could potentially end up looking like.

luke wilson's dream house (w/ cell coverage)

This week, I'm going to be pretty busy shopping for classes, receiving syllabi, and getting myself organized for a new semester, so I won't have time to get the big golf course picture together until Friday's post
In the meantime, here's a little thing I made during the absolute depths of my winter break boredom. I made this gingerbread house because Luke Wilson has been inundating TV with all these AT&T commercials. In these ads, it's evident that he's gained some weight, so he's been getting made fun of a lot. He really doesn't look that bad (seriously, would probably still hit it), and it's definitely uncool to make fun of anyone for gaining weight. However, I think it's kind of okay to give him a hard time because female celebrities always have way more pressure to be skinny than male ones anyway, so maybe it's fair (on some level) that he's getting criticized. Plus, those AT&T ads are really lame, so maybe he deserves some mocking. Also, the joke's on me because, even though I tried really hard, my gingerbread house really sucks.
In my defense, the gingerbread kit was only one dollar.

course

Here are some photos of what I have so far for the picture that will TRULY be done for Monday's post. I still have a lot more to do, but I think I'm starting to get somewhere.

I wanted the water to look like this^ kind of fake blue water that they have at mini-golf courses. I don't know if I'm satisfied yet.

omg scans + kevin

Here are some scans I made of the earlier drawings (shout out to my pals @ Fed-Ex Office). Sorry the big picture is taking SO long to finish.
Staycation Revelation #1:
in my somewhat recent video blog, I shared a quote that really confused me. But now, after weeks of internal debate, I now realize that, even though "having as much fun as you can" is pretty important, WINNING COMES FIRST!!!! It was very obvious-- stated explicity even. I don't know why it took me so long to get it.

^These screenshots were the result of my failed attempt to use some application called iWeb to export pictures to this blog. I think iWeb's templates are onto something-- this blog is way appealing. Kevin seems fascinating.

chicks

More of these? It's very dull, I know. Trust me, this is truly the last of them.
I'm pretty certain I'll have the whole thing assembled for Monday's post. I just have to decide whether I should incorporate a boat into the mix...

girls, girls, girls

Here are some more preparatory drawings for the big picture I'm working on. It'll add up to something cohesive eventually. Since these photos are pretty bad, I'll replace them with scans in the near future
While I was away, my posts were very light on art and mostly joke-based, but, now that I'm home, I'll try to take things a bit more seriously.
