this is it

-I promised not to do any more Michael Jackson pictures', so I'll say this one is just "some guy".
His right arm is really weird and deformed looking-- I need to brush up on my foreshortening skillz.
-Since I don't have any imminent academic responsibilities to deal with this weekend, expect Monday's post to be pretty substantial.

back in action

-Here's a little sketch of some sort of 'celebrity dj' situation. I did something a lot like this over the summer, and my dad wanted me to make another one with a border, so I figured I could quickly do another version of it for today's post.
I didn't have time to finish it today, so I'll add the done one later.
-Sorry for essentially taking last week off. I really regret being so lazy during my break. I blame tv.
-Seriously though, things will improve. I have some ambitious plans. Plus, I really need to get it together for the upcoming ***100th Post***

inspiration quest II

I didn't make anything post-worthy this week. I tried a few things, but they were all pretty gross. So, I figured I'd just put up some pictures of things I want to incorporate into the stuff I'll work on once I'm back at school. In retrospect, I probably should've known that I wouldn't be able to transcend my tendency to be lazy during break and preemptively declared a little 'blog hiatus'.

unproductive

I really have nothing to post for today. I'm home for fall break, and I didn't take any art supplies with me, so I'm just kind of sketching randomly. Plus, I'm kind of using this week to "get inspired" and think before I start making something really big once I'm back on campus. Excuses, Excuses.
I'll make something nice for Friday

^I found those awesome bookends I made back in the day. What skill! They look like little gravestones-- morbid.

plus

^my second sculpture project
In case you couldn't tell from the cool carpet, this piece is located in my art studio. I made it because my studio has no window, and not knowing whether it's light or dark out sort of bothers me. The two lights are hooked up to a timer, which regulates it so the blue one stays lit during the nighttime, while the orange one stays lit during the day.
I'm supposed to send my class a video of the lights switching, so I'll post that here eventually. I'm sure it'll be pretty action-packed.

six flags

^Here's a bonus post of sorts, since Monday's post ended up being sans new art. Sorry for falling behind, midterms are pretty rough. This is just an updated version of something I posted awhile back.
It's not a print like I promised. I have made some new prints (so many, in fact, you could call me Freddie Prints Jr. or the Fresh Prints of Bel Air-- or, actually, please never do that), but I always forget to bring my camera to the studio.

code blue

It's midterms, and I'm pretty busy, so I don't have anything to post yet. Also, I ended up devoting a lot of my "art time" to a !++++SCULPTURE EMERGENCY++++!
For my sculpture project, I bought a bunch of plexiglass panels, which I thought were clear, orange, and blue. But, it turns out the blue ones aren't truly blue. They're actually just more clear ones covered with blue plastic (I guess I'm not a very perceptive consumer). I ended up having to use blue spray paint, which looks less "sleek" than I wanted, but it will just have to do.

Luckily, I'm planning on having a printmaking fiesta late tonight, so I should end up with one or two things to post by the morning.

Emergencies (on a scale of very scary to not scary)::

-Disease Outbreaks
-Radiation Emergencies
-Building Collapses and Explosions
-Chemical Spills, Hazards and Emergencies
-Tornadoes
-Tropical Storms and Hurricanes
-Terrorism
-Fire
-Earthquakes
-Flooding
-
-
-
-SCULPTURE EMERGENCIES
-
-
-Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
-Thunderstorms
-
-Extreme Heat
-Winter Weather
-Loss of Utilities
-
-
-Fashion Emergencies

^the fraudulent, "blue" plexiglass. What a deceptive facade.

lady in red, with a huge head

-Here's a picture of a lady with a really big head.
-Then, I added a little, illustration-ish drawing.
-Right now, I have to learn to use a band saw, and then go to a hardware store for my second sculpture project. Assuming I survive these tasks (I probably will, the table saw was pretty simple to use), I'll add something else to this post later today or tomorrow.

seasonal drinks

-here are two pictures that aren't done yet. i now like to refer to unfinished things as "living documents"
-sorry things are so lame lately. i'm sick/overwhelmed..........self-pity....fascinating
-on a happy note, i think i did an A+ job on that frapuccino. perhaps, in terms of things i like to draw, frappucinos are the new boats?
-speaking of starbucks, i found this enlightening website while making this picture, and it somehow managed to divert my attention away from my paper. It calls itself a "handy-dandy page", and i can't say i disagree. Truly vital information

(for goody) don't worry, when evaluating graveyards, the "Graveyard of Discontinued Drinks" is no match for POOLCHAIR GRAVEYARD!!!

delay

I spent the whole day buying plexiglass for my next sculpture project, so I didn't have time to make anything today. Sorry!
I'll make some stuff and get it up sometime over the weekend.
